Light

The first picture is round 8 a.m. The second is around noon. The third is around 4 p.m. I really like the noon picture. The light is really bright and enhances the color. The blue-ish color of the other's really make the pictures boring

Sky

Replacing the sky gave it an interesting effect. The clouds are really large and intense. I wish I spent a little more time on the details. I think this turned out really nice and it blends pretty well.

Composition

The Rule of Thirds

I found bird nest on the ground when I was taking pictures. I kind of cheated and put it in a tree so that it had a unique view. I really like the color contrast. The light turned out really nice and created nice shadows.

Curved Lines

This is a deer head. The horns create nice curves and the texture of the fur looks really crisp. I think this looked better in black and white than in color. The green in the trees behind it distracted from the subject.

Leading Lines

This is a griller-thingy that is on our fire pit. The poles lead right down into the pit. The rust on the metal contrasts nice with the snow and gray metal. I feel like the red color definitely adds to the picture.

Horizontal Lines

This is a wood pile that is by our house from old siding. The stacks create nice horizontal lines. The black and white really helps the picture by taking away the distractions from the plants.

Diagonal Lines

The diagonal lines created by the tape give the picture some interesting symmetry. The shine of the tape contrasts with the texture of the foam.

Winter Nature

Shutter: 1/500
Aperture: f/3.6

Focal Length: 14.4mm

This is my dog Maggie. I let her out side and she was freaking out so I took pictures. I think she smelled some sort of rodent under the snow. I really like how she contrasts with the snow. I really like the detail in her fur. I don't like how the head is a little darker than the rest of the body, but it kind of draws your attention.

This was taken on a very frosty morning. I really like the detail in the ice. I like how the smooth, clean ice contrasts with the dirty, textured ground. I could have tried doing this in black and white instead of color and maybe I could have got a different effect.

I took pictures of the old grandfather clock in my house. The color was really good because the sun was shining through the window. I took these pictures because the main subjects are really interesting and detailed. In the first picture, the main subject is the key and the secondary subject is the keyhole. I could have made these better by trying to get different angles.
